Here is website for our local school, The Berkeley Center. It is where I have done my training and also provides more information about the training and Marion Rosen.
Alan Fogel, a Rosen Method practitioner, has complied this list of scientific studies and research on the Rosen method
This is the website of the international Rosen institute. They have general information along with a page of their own resources and the Rosen Journal, which is an open access journal with in-depth articles for students of the Rosen method and as well as general public.
There are many books! Some of my favorites include:
The Rosen Method: coming alive and staying alive in the 21st century - Marilyn J Davis
Rosen Method Bodywork: Accessing the unconcious through touch - Marion Rosen with Susan Brenner
Relaxation Awareness Resilience: Rosen Method Bodywork Science and Practice- Ivy Green

Rosen method is for anyone who is looking for a greater sense of ease in one's body and one’s self, and a greater understanding of who they are underneath the everyday.
It can help shift feelings of stuckness, can help integrate difficult experiences, can lead to greater self acceptance and shift how we relate to others. Rosen bodywork can also help alleviate physical pain and discomfort.
Rosen method is not psychotherapy, although it is a wonderful compliment to it. For this reason it is not for anyone in an acute mental health crisis. For those in recovery, a one year period of sobriety is recommended.

A session lasts about 50 minutes with the client on a massage table. The client starts face down and turns on their back halfway through. The practitioner uses a listening, non-manipulative touch to bring the client into a deeper awareness of themselves. Some sessions have a lot of words , while others are quite quiet.
A client may talk as little or as much as they like. They are not expected to “do” anything besides have the experience they are having. The practitioner may guide them towards feeling their body in certain places, or bring attention to the times when the body and mind are in agreement.
Although removing clothing as one would in a massage is traditional, it is by no means necessary. Clients are encouraged to undress to however much feels comfortable. Each session will look different- for instance with clients who are very uncomfortable with touch, it may make sense to start in a seated position and work on the hands or shoulders. Cultivating a true sense of safety and comfort for the client is foundational to the work.

Please follow this link on The Berkeley School’s website to read more about the requirements for certification.
Please note I am in the intern phase of my training- I am in the process of completing 380 client hours before becoming fully certified. I have completed 7 immersions and all the other prerequisites for the internship.

Marion Rosen said that she had clients who had breakthroughs the first time and others who took years. I have found it can take time to learn to “receive” the work.
That being said, the traditional format is once every other week. It is highly recommended to see one practitioner consistently to deepen trust and facilitate opening.
